By Freddie Alexander, Illustrated by Helen O’Higgins
Be warned, Reader, this book isn’t about a normal spice bag, nor is it about a normal boy. Quite the opposite. This book is about the Spice Bag, and our unlikely hero: a 10-year-old boy named George…
It also has:
- A dash of adventure
- A sprinkle of mystery
- A greasy villain
- And a talking mouse
And then there’s Mr Spicebag’s chipper, which seems to be at the centre of everything. George is about to have the weirdest week of his life…
About the author - Freddie Alexander lives in Dublin with his wife, his son and, he suspects, a large family of mice. Freddie rarely eats spice bags these days, although the same assurances cannot be given for the mice who come and go as they please. Mr Spicebag is his first book.
About the illustrator - Helen O’Higgins is an Irish illustrator and printmaker based in Dublin. Mr Spicebag is the first book she has illustrated. It is also her greasiest and most delicious project to date.
